Our 1st biweekly pay date in January 2018 has a pay period end date of 12/31/2017. Normally on BS06 we enter an effective date of 1/1/xx and the actual ppe date of the 1st cycle. Lawson will not allow the 1st ppe date to be prior to the effective date. I opened an incident with Lawson and they said to use the effective date of the PPB date of the 1st cycle. Effective Date: 12/18/17 / 1st Cycle End Date: 12/31/17. When I did this BS06 updated correctly using the Calculate;Add button and the 26 pay periods were generated. It make me nervious having the effective date be in 2017. Has anyone used this method and if so did you have any problems with deduction calculations or the deductions being tied to the incorrect BN32 record?
