New to IPA trying to create rehire process flow

So I am new to lawson IPA and I want to create a process flow for when you hit rehire in resources.

This is my query but how do I link it to the button rehire? I am still a little fuzzy on how flows get linked to buttons in landmark and how they get kicked off into a work unit by pressing a button in landmark.

Sorry if this is a really dumb question.

Hi! If you are new to IPA, I would suggest configuring your flow using the system delivered flow as your template. When logged into IPA, select "Tools" > "Manage Processes" from the toolbar (At least this is the path for the version of IPA I have which is 10.1.1.44). Locate the flow that is currently attached to the action (If you are unsure of the name of the flow, go to Service Definitions in GHR, open the service - Rehire in this case- and the process attached to that service will be listed in the below list). Download that flow and begin to make your changes. I would suggest saving it as a different name so you will always have the delivered flow to go back to if necessary. I hope this helps!

As a follow-up to SCockrell's comment, a little clarification may help.

First, a button doesn't call a Flow - it calls an ActionRequest, which calls a PfiService, which calls a flow. Within Config Console (if you have access), you can to find the ActionRequest that is called by the Rehire button - but it appears you already know it is called "RehireResource" on the "Employee" business class.

In this case, I know the RehireResource action calls the PfiService named RehireResource. If you look in the PFIServiceFlowDefinition you can see what flow is called by that service. This is where you can change the service to call a different flow (i.e. copy the delivered flow and rename it, and then point the service to the new flow).

The reason you want to copy-and-modify the delivered flow is because the Action passes (critical) variables to the flow, and your new flow will very likely need these variables - like ActionRequestID, Employee, Submitter, etc. You certainly can start from scratch, but it is much easier to start with something that works with the action.
