Using AP510 To Update Vendor Records

Does anyone know of a way to update vendor records in Lawson from a third-party system? I was thinking I could use AP510 to update existing vendor records by providing the old and current vendor number in the APCVENMAST file. However, each time I've tried this AP510 ends up creating a new vendor record. Any suggestions?

Excel add-ins can do this, so I would assume (key word: assume) that an IPA flow would be able to grab the file and perform and ags call/update to perform this. Of course, if this is a one-time update, add-ins is probably the best answer.

Thanks MaryBeth. Unfortunately we don't have landmark or IPA set up. That makes sense that add-ins would work, but this is a daily update we're looking to schedule.

You have to run AP510 2 ways, 1 adds new vendors and the other updates addresses. It is in the parameters. We update Tens of Thousands of records. Call me at 212-598-6882. I do not know the Unix name for the interface files. AP51 can be used to populate them and test new vendore. AP51.3 is the program screen that edits the addresses in interface file. Thank you John! Using AP51.3 to change vendor addresses works like a charm!

I wish there were a better way for changing vendor names (other than using add-ins), but it's a start!
