Form Control in SyteLine/Clod Suite Industrial

Is there a way to move "Site" forms from one database (Development) to another (Production) without using TFS of some other source control software? We are using Cloud Suite Industrial 9.00.30.

Hey Mike,

You can script this out of the database from the utility server using the form sync utility. If you choose the same configuration (in this case would be your development) you can use this to generate .sql scripts. After you've got that you run the one with the form info on the forms db and the license one on the app db.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried using the form sync form and got the following error message: "The transaction associated with the current connection has completed but has not been disposed. The transaction must be disposed before the connection can be used to execute SQL statements". Had a look at the KB's and could only find the same issue for cloud based applications and 9.00.10, neither of which were applicable to our version 9.00.30. I could be doing something wrong, as I am very new to the system, but cannot figure out what..... If you have any further suggestions, please let me know and I'll give it a try. Thanks, Mike.

We're also on 9.00.30 here. Do you mean that you tried the Form Sync form within SyteLine? There is also either a Form Sync or Form Synchronization application on the utility server that you can use. If I recall correctly the first thing you choose when it opens up is the source and target configuration. Then you get a bunch of menu options. We're doing a migration of some customizations I did into Production tomorrow night so we will be going through the steps. I don't ever go into the utility server myself (IT has access here) but I can take some notes of the steps and follow up either tomorrow night or Monday morning with what we do to migrate from development to Production.

Actually, it looks like someone else has already done some instructions here for this :

Export UETs

NOTE: Important to see if the UET fields already exist or not in Target...if they do, you don't need to run the EXPORT/IMPORT steps of this procedure

- Open blank Query window against App database of SOURCE in SQL Management Studio

- Enter command: execute Export_UETClassSp '[UETCLASSNAME]'

- Save output file as UETClassname_UET

Import UETs

NOTE: Important to see if the UET fields already exist or not in Target...if they do, you don't need to run the EXPORT/IMPORT steps of this procedure

- Run SQL Output from previous step against TARGET app database using SQL Management Studio

- Ignore errors - eg. key constraints

- Open SyteLine TARGET application and run Impact Schema for UETs form.

Export Form Script

- Open FormSync application on TARGET utility server (eg. infor-utility-d)

- Set SOURCE to Source system you want to sync from (eg. DEV)

- Set TARGET to Target system you want to update (eg. UAT)

- Hit OK

- Click GEAR icon (Utilities)

- Click "Select/clear all" checkbox to uncheck all (on filters tab)

- Click "Forms" checkbox

- Select the "Form" from the dropdown list that you wish to sync

- Click "Refresh List" button

- Click "Include" checkbox next to the Site version of the form in grid (ensure DELETE is not checked

- Click the "Script" tab

- Click "..." next to the Object Filename

- Select a location to save and name as "FORMNAME_Form" (eg. Items_Form)

- Click "Open"

- Uncheck "Script Form License"

- Click "Generate" and click "Yes"

Import Form Script

- Open exported Form script generated in previous section in Management Studio against the TARGET Forms database (eg. Syteline_Forms_UAT)

- Execute the script

Remove User Versions in TARGET

- Open FormSync application on utility server (TARGET)

- Click on Utilities (Gears)

- Click on "Change Configuration"

- Select TARGET as Source and Target

- Press OK and OK again

- Click Filter tab

- Filter for Forms -> Form that was updated (eg. Items)

- Click "Refresh" button

- Select "Include" and "Delete" checkboxes next to "User forms"...Ensure the SITE Version is deselected for both checkboxes.

- Click on the DELETE tab

- Click on the DELETE button

Clear Global Cache

- Open Configuration Manager application on the Target Utility Server

- Click on Utilities Tab and click "Discard IDO Cache"

One thing to note in these instructions though is that it says to Uncheck "Script Form License" - We did that last time and it kept giving an error that we needed a licence when we tried to open the form from within SyteLine so you may have to actually script out the license as well.

Hi Mike,

Apologies for the late response. The UET is User Extended Tables. I'm not too familiar with it myself, I haven't really dug into that stuff at all yet - about too and I'm finding the Infor help documentation is pretty helpful here so far. I also don't have the stored procedure so I wonder if someone here grabbed those steps from somewhere else. Anytime we've migrated UETs here they have just created them manually in each environment.

It seems like this script may be a way to do this without creating them manually.
