Straight to S3

I am used to see that the URL is something like http/s://<server>:<port>/SitePages/InforSuite.aspx?LogicalId=lid:<logical ID>. I got this from a Ming.le presentation Hans Mueller did. Lately, I have seen something like http/s://<server>:<port>/Lawson%20S3/SitePages/Default.aspx. This goes straight into S3. Is this something old and is going away? What does it mean?

first url you have is called mingle which allows you access all of the modules you have installed. second one is just for s3. we have teams who use portal (second url) because they mainly work in s3 and don't need anything else. time out/logout value may be different for portal vs. mingle.

Both allow you to go to multiple modules. Everyone has S3 and LBI. I see both icons after I log on. I can toggle between the 2. The version is very old (10.0.3). The same person who set up the old version used the same URL format for a fairly recent version, and it works like the logical ID method. I am thinking it was called Workspace prior to switch to Ming.le.

The other difference is that sometimes the context apps (if you're using them) won't work. There is something in the InforSuite.aspx page that allows those to run that doesn't work correctly when you go to the site page of the sub site.
