Report: Pay check details in separate columns

Is there a Lawson report that lists check details by employee with separate columns for gross, net, federal tax, ss, specific deductions, etc. and can be run for a range of dates, not just 1 check date? Right now we are working on a crystal report using PAYMASTR and PAYDEDUCTN and it is cumbersome because we have to create a formula field for each deduction code. It seems like a report with this information should be standard and I feel like I am missing the obvious. Any input on Lawson report or sql query would be great!

Have you taken a look at PR260 or PR261?

Yes. Those don't export to Excel in a way that gives each "bucket" its own column. Thanks for the suggestion though! (Or maybe I am exporting it wrong??? I am using the create csv button from the print manager.)

Sounds like you want one row per employee with all the pay and deduction amounts going across, is that correct? I don't know of a Lawson canned program that does that. If you don't want to reinvent the whole wheel, try PR261 and set the Create CSV flag to yes. This creates a csv file called PR261PAYDET.csv (NOT the PR261.csv) that will be in your print directory when the job is done. In this csv, the gross and net are in 2 columns in the same row for each employee (record type 1), but each pay code and deduction for the employee has its own row (record type 2). You can use this file as an input file to a program or process flow that will collapse all the rows into one per employee (we did something similar-ish but unfortunately not quite what you are looking for). Or you might be able to break the csv into parts in excel and do something fancy with it there - for example, since each deduction and pay is in its own row, you could use a pivot table, or the transpose command to get them to go across instead of down. Either way, at least you'll only have to reinvent the tire, not the whole wheel

Most direct way would be to use an Oracle LISTAGG grouped by employee and check date.

v9.0.1 for another month before our v10 upgrade. We are having issues running PR261 Create CSV by Process Level, and it's generating an illegible file all garbled. Any suggestions?

Cheri, how is the file garbled? Is the data correct but running on like there are no line feeds, or is the data itself bad?
