State of Illinois Quarterly filing

Has anyone tried to load the State of Illinois Quarter 3 filing? We found out when we tried to load that the State of Illinois has changed the file layout for the Quarterly File:

IDES ICESA File Format Overall Structure The ICESA file must contain lines of 276 characters each. The first character of each line is the Record Identifier and is used to identify how the line is processed. Blank lines are not permitted in the file. Line Identifiers and File Structure Each line of 276 characters must start with a Record Identifier character. Valid Record Identifiers are A, B, E, S, T, and F. Other record identifiers will result in an invalid file. All lines must end with the standard carriage return/line feed characters. When we try to change the parameters of this job using option 3 Dos/Windows (CR/LF) we receive an error: State IL STATE format on Electronic not supported No Data in Report File - Check Report Parameters for Error Message. How do we create the ICESA file to contain a carriage return?

I've opened a case with Lawson, but they are still researching the issue

We switched over to the csv format since we a smaller company. Much simpler format.

The only thing I changed on the job was to change it to CSV format.

We have multiple process levels and process ours by head process level. We send in 5 separate files.

Not sure if it is same issue we have but we found that PR292 creates 2 output files – one that is wrapped and one that contains line breaks. You might try the file that is not wrapped. I know our payroll team had issues as they were trying to use the wrapped line file.

I found a file - 'pruifile' that does contain the carriage return.

We will try to upload that file. Funny Lawson didn't come up with this solution

The 'pruifile' is not formatted to state specifications so it will most likely be rejected. The 'pruifile' simply an easily readable version of the 'final' file which is what needs to be sent to the state. There is currently a patch that is being worked on that will resolve the issue of the carriage returns for the State of Illinois, however this patch has not yet been resolved. Please watch for the release of JT-1104075.

Unfortunately, until this patch is released, your only available workaround would be to manually add the carriage return at the 512 mark in the file for each line.
