Changing Stock UOM for inventoried item

Has anyone successfully changed the IC11 Stock UOM for inventoried items? When trying to change, I receive the message "Cannot change UOM, quanitities/activity exists in UOM".

Whoever has SOH of the item it has to be taken out. After you make your UOM changes the Stock can be put back in ,

We have, but it is not an easy process. You must take your inventory to zero in all locations, update the Gl with IC130 and depending on the change IC12, IC81, PO15, PO25,... must be updated accordingly to successfully make the change.

Yes you are correct it is not an easy process , especially if the item is in multiple locations.

That is probably the most difficult single change to make in Lawson. You can not have any open requisitions, PO's, Returns, SOH in an IC12 in order to make the change. I have yet to find a solution to make it easier, and have done much research.

It may be that we are JIT and mostly non-stock, so our inventory is confined to the Central Supply within the building, but this is completely doable for us.

STEPS HOW TO ADD/CHANGE TO A LESSER/STOCK UOM

1. Issue out all stock on hand/Cycle Count to zero stock on hand.

• Drill Around™ to ensure all warehouse transactions are closed.

• Verify Trans UOM is blank on IC12

2. IC11 UOM Tab: add new stock UOM with all priorities 2 and click Change

3. Templates: PO115 UOM Job: Change Field Tab

• Change to new stock UOM and run in update mode

4. IC11 Main Tab: change stock UOM to new UOM and click Change

• IC11 UOM Tab: change conversion ratios as needed and click Change

5. Templates: PO115 UOM Job: change back to buy UOM as needed

6. PO25.6: Change vendor price agreement as indicated

• If price file does not allow UOM change (“Does not match Vendor Item”):

i) Go to PO13

ii) From Vendor Item Description field, Shift+F3 and Change (refresh info from IC11)

iii) Return to PO25.6 and resume

7. Reverse Issue/Cycle Count item back to correct SOH for new UOM.

JT-421907 Allow changes to UOM and UOM conversion factors. IC Company option to bypass UOM edits on IC11.

Note: the legacy edits to prevent the UOM from being removed when there is Stock On Hand (SOH) will still be in place.

Added a new configuration field on the Item Group (IC00).

The Edit UOM Changes flag controls whether UOM settings can be changed when open transactions exist.

Note: changes to UOM settings include: valid UOM, conversion factor, UOM selections: Tracked, Trans, Sell, Sell Price, Buy.

Note: open transactions include: ITEMLOC, ICTRANS, COLINE, POITEMVEN, POVAGRMTLN, POINTERFAC, POLINE, PORETURNLN.
