Removing Drop down items from lists in ESS and MSS on Landing Page

I'm trying to remove some items from the drop down list on the initial landing page of Manager and Employee Space, also in Rich Client for certain users.

I opened a case with Infor and they indicated that this will be available in Landmark version 11, which we won't be going to for awhile. I was told by a consultant that it could be done via security, but that's about all the information that was given to me. I have looked thru a lot of security classes and I don't see anything, yet I'm not really sure what the appropriate "Term" would be that I'm looking for. I have worked a lot with security, as we have many of our roles/security classes customized. Does anyone know if it's possible to do this and if so, the specific security class in Landmark that would need modifying? I have modified security so that Employee's and Manager's can't view or create reports so they get a security violation if they try, but I would like the option to not even be available. Even if it's not thru security as I was told and there is another option I would appreciate any feedback.

Currently we are on Landmark 10.1.1.56, LTM 11.0.0.31, LSF 10.0.9. Also, we do Customize our ESS/MSS via Configurable Home Pages.

We configured security to remove menu items by creating a new security class to manipulate just menus. Below is a sample for the Employee Menu to remove process flow from being shown.

Everything under the "Applications" sub-menu is controlled by Security Rules and thereby Security Configuration. You need to remove "webapp" access for the Process Server webapp (actually named Lpa.webapp) from all security classes belonging to the Roles belonging to the Actors that you'd like to hide this from.

The "My*" stuff and "Create Report" items are different. and they are not controlled by Security Rules. Landmark added the ability to hide these by Role in Landmark 11 with a new "Configurable Features" feature. There is no way today in Landmark 10.1.1 to hide these. You can use some advanced security configurations to limit all access to data and actions for the business classes behind those items though. But you cannot hide the items themselves in 10.1.1.

... If you aren't showing a MenuItem to some roles while hiding from others you should simply use Menu Application Configuration to actually remove the MenuItem from the Menu. This will load pages faster and use less memory over time as the system doesn't have to process security rules at runtime and cache.

One drawback with this approach is knowing the item exists/existed, but doco can manage that.

Neither of these apply to kbmightym's case as the items in the "User Account" menu aren't governed by traditional MenuItem Security Rules.

Thank you. I tried this in test and it didn't work. I don't think that these are per se "Menu" items. I believe they are list that are embedded in the application security that 921545 mentions.

If I understand you correctly, I do use Configuration Console so modify Employee, Manager, etc. Menu items.

That's what I was told in a case that we need Landmark 11 to do this. I do have the security set up so they can't Create Reports or MyReports but sounds like I won't be able to until we get the Landmark 11. I was getting conflicting information. As far as the "webapp" for the Process Server webapp. Do you have an example of one of the security classes that may be in?

Thank you. Just to make it clear for myself. We still want Employees and Mangers to be able to get to their Inbaskets and acknowledge appraisals, complete requisitions, approvals, etc., which it looks like it would still be available under all of the pfi business classes in those Security classes. Ultimately we would like the Process Server option to be removed from the Applications section. I'm beginning to think it will be a lot of work just for a "cosmetic" change.
