EEO Category Description

Anyone know what table holds the descriptions connected to EEO_CAT on JOBCODE? I have a list of them but would like to use the actual field in a report versus having to do a vlookup in Excel.

Hi ccburt, the only place I could find them was in the HR06 screen code source file. They are hardcoded under the edit list for JBC-EEO-CAT on HR06.scr.

So, it looks like this would this still require me to do a lookup in excel for my report?

What tool are you using to create this report? If you are using SQL or a reporting tool like crystal or SSRS, and your system is on premise, you can create your own table of EEO categories and descriptions and join to it. If you are using add-ins query wizard, you still *might* be able to create the table - you'd have to define it to Lawson and then see if it shows up in Query Wizard.

You could write a VBA macro instead of having to link to another spreadsheet with vlookup.

IT had run a query for me for Job Code showing EEO Category but they said they could not find the table with the description field so my report was more or less incomplete, since to be user friendly, those Category descriptions really needed to be there.

So, I decided to come on here and found this thread mentioning it was hardcoded under the edit list, so I passed that via email to my development team. Meanwhile, I added my question on here to find out if IT would be able to pull the description using SQL, or if I was going to have to manually retype the descriptions from the drop down and create a little lookup for my final Job Code EEO Category report.

With all of your responses, I'll be able to offer these "join" suggestions to my developer. Thanks to all.
