finding data fields

Hello! New to Infor HCM and attempting to learn how to personalize lists for reporting. What is the secret to learning what field to chose? I can use the shift/cntrl click method, but it does not always reference the same filed names that are found in the personalization option.

CTRL+SHIFT+O will give you the 3 letter table code and field name. If you are using add-ins for querying, you can add the 3 letter code in table prefix at the bottom and click on the field next to it to find the actual table name

Thanks, I probably should have clarified - that I am using Rich Client. I just tried CTRL+SHIFT+O in field and all that happened was it moved the field value from one side to another

Try "ctrl-shift-left click" for rich client.

In the rich client, Ctrl+Shift+Click will give you the business class, form/list, and field name, and they USUALLY correspond to a table and field name, but not always. User fields are stored in the USERFIELD_STORAGE table for example. Is it a user field you are looking for, or a regular one?

yes, we do that, but there is sometimes no correlation to the field list that displays within the personalization option

HI Robert, thanks. Yes it is a user field we are looking for. I'm not familiar with the userfield_storage table. How do I find it?
