Lawson Upgrade Version 11.0.0

We’re looking at upgrading to Lawson LTM (Talent Mgmt) version 11.0.0 and wonder if anyone who has can comment on the length of time it look for the upgrade and whether or not you used outside consulting to help with the upgrade.  Also, for anyone currently on Lawson LTM version 11.0.0, are the Benefits held in the Landmark system versus the Lawson S3 Portal side?  We heard only version 11.0.1 has the Benefits over on Landmark, but wanted to be sure.

Hello.

Here's what I can tell you about our experience.

1. We went live on LTM 10.2 in May 2016. Not using Health/Safety or Learning

2. Payroll/Benefits/Absence is on LSF msp 10.0.7

3. We are Managed Services supported so they actually perform the upgrade tasks for us

4. We got quotes for consulting but were high

5. We chose to upgrade test/dev to 11.0.0.27 and just test the modules we use today..ie.. NO BENEFIT/ABSENCE

6. Just 2 of us with all our other duties tested in dev then upgraded test. We allotted 4 months but then had priority issues so we just upgraded prod 12/3 (to avoid month of November for our Open Enrollment)

7. AMS did the actual upgrade. Upgrade time stamps for us was about 4-5 hours

8. We don't use Health/Safety

9. Our primary uses are GHR, TA, Employee Relations, Performance.

I haven't finished all my notes yet but here are some callouts we saw-

**note the end user experience isn't that different for the modules we use**

>the way you export from TM to S3 is different.. make sure you do not have personalizations on or you will not see 'new' menus...Exports are from HRMExport on Interface menu.. .not Interface-Interface even though it still exists there...I battled this trying to find it then realized had personalizations

>the s3 job instead of lt101 will be lt111. If you have records in TM export that were put there before upgrade to v11, have to run lt101.. anything after v 11, use lt111... we battled this one too.. lt111 kept going to recovery or something then realized prior to v11, still run lt101 for those then after, lt111

>the way pdf's launch/generate for performance evaluations is a little different

>export on s3 2nd jobs put Indirect Supervisor = 0 on the lt11 and causes error. this is fixed in 11.0.0.29

>custom home pages/welcome pages- are different and I can't explain all that..I had to have our html developer go over it and the documentation with support and we got it straighten out

>we are battling a custom security role/class for proxydirectsupervisor... we had custom so employee couldn't see the managers 'employee' stuff as well as so employee can't see others in their same position as well as can't see pay on anyone... ltmv11 fixed that and now we are trying to figure out our error

>in TA -primary setup - the 'sync profile and lockout' we had set reverted to not be checked and no lockout specified with the upgrade. One thing we found as we have always had it set to lockout at Hiring Manager Review.. our recruiters would 'delete' attachments as needed but now they can't delete unless the lock out is set at 'disposition'... so we are changing internal processes to 'update' instead of delete

>we did see field removed/fields added that affected our config console... so we pretty much removed all of them then added back in after the upgrade... we had reviewed in detail when in TEST

> in v 10.2 we had issues with management structures not correctly showing and though support indicated we should NOT run maintenance jobs for this we had to and we had to work with a developer to make changes. I had to stop/remove schedules for those jobs for the upgrade.





We are now gathering quote to convert Benefits and Absence from S3 to LTM 11. It is quite expensive... but I haven't found anyone that has done this or any consulting other than Infor to do it. I'm waiting on Budget approval for this so can't share much on those 2 pieces.
