We want to create an absence plan based on an employee's FTE at the beginning of a quarter (and the job they are in). For example if they are a 1.0 FTE on 1/1 they receive a lump sum 40 hours of PTO on 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and on 10/1 of each quarter begin. If they were a 1.0 FTE on 1/1 change to a .9 FTE mid-quarter, on 3/1, for example, they would have received 40 hours of PTO on 1/1, but on 4/1 they would only receive a lump sum of 36 hours of PTO. Ideally, if they become NEWLY eligible for this absence plan due to changing to an eligible job mid-quarter, the PTO should be prorated through the end of the quarter. Is anyone using an absence plan where the allotments are only given quarterly, and would you be willing to share how you set it up? Also, at the end of each quarter, their unused PTO should be paid out. Can that be automated as well? Please let me know. Thank you!
