ESS Benefit Enrollment issue

Hi All,

We have had a few issues with ESS benefit enrollment and not having a plan from each of the required plan groups come over. For example, we have Health, Dental, Vision, Accident Insurance, Illness Insurance, and Pre-Paid Legal all set up as required plan groups on BS02 and the plans within each of those plan groups listed on BS03. When processing the online benefits from BS31, I have noticed that an employee's Health, Dental, Vision, Accident and Illness elections will come over, but nothing gets passed for Pre-Paid Legal. The issue seems to be at random and does not happen to the same plan(s) each time.

Has anyone else experienced this or anything similar? I'd like to hear if you have determined a cause of the issue and any solutions you may have found.

Hi Stephanie,

We've experienced the same issue all five years of using ESS enrollment. We nor Infor Lawson have been able to pinpoint the exact cause. After speaking with several employees for which it happened, it seemed to occur when he/she used the *browser* back button rather than the 'previous page' buttons within the enrollment pages. However, we've not been able to replicate in our test system.

We do use several Intellias Benefit Addins for click reduction, Dependent maintenance, PCP selection, Tobacco capture, etc. We are not currently using their Benefit Logging and Reporting module but are considering it as a possible solution to this issue.

Interested to see if anyone else responds with a definitive cause and solution.

We've seen this every year since 2009, seems most prevalent for us with Insurance plans. Have seen various posts over the years reporting same behavior, but never resolved. We use a Crystal to monitor election counts, since with the waivers we know each employee should have X number of elections.

We also use Intellias Benefit Addins for online enrollment and experience the same issue. What we have been told is it could be a result of the Employee using the Back button on the browser versus using the buttons on the actual enrollment screen. We can't replicate the issue in order to get additional support on it. Like VinceGW, we run audits that look at the # enrollment records to determine if they have 1 for each plan. We also have the Intellias Benefits Audit module and we can see when an employee's elections error out. The difficult part is we have to review the Audit trail for those Errors. Sometimes no records are written for employees with have an Error status but other times some of the records are created. It's frustrated nonetheless that it isn't working as we would expect.

We have had the issue as well. We now have all enrollments; new hire, annual and life events, open in a new window which eliminates the back button. Your IT department may need to make the change on the preferences/user options.

I wouldn't say it solved the issue but it drastically reduced the issues we we experiencing. We see issues with enrollment if the user uses Chrome or Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.
