Determine printer assignments

In Lawson Security Administrator -> User Maintenance -> Lawson Environment Information, we have assigned a value to the 'Printer Name' field for our users. How can I determine which users in Lawson have a specific value in that 'Printer Name' field? I am trying to identify all users who have the 'Printer Name' field set to 'xyz_printer'.

I you have access to the sql tables behind the scenes (or someone else does)

I believe you are looking for what's in the "PRINTERNAME" field in the GEN Database in the R_USER table

the only trouble is you'll need to know the NT identifier of the user to associate with an actual user

For example if I do

SELECT USERNAME,PRINTERNAME

FROM [LSGENDB].[ls_gen].[R_USER]

it comes back with

USERNAME PRINTERNAME

NTxxxxxxxxxxxx printer123

you'll need to use the listusermap command output via lid to correlate find out who NTxxxxxxxxxxx is

by doing

listusermap -u NTxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

which will tell you who it really is.

Faster way, does not require using SQL. (You will still need listusermap for this.)

rngdbdump -c gen USER | lashow

1st field is UserName (NT id if in Windows)

4th field is default printer name - the name in Lawson, defined by prtdef.

ah yes....my old friend rngdbdump.....I always seem to forget that exists since I use it so infrequently (i.e. only when INOR tells me to for assistance in troubleshooting something).

It's really useful. I've done some quick slick script tricks with it, by parsing rngdbdump output from gen tables to check on things. (I have never used ProcessFlow, which would probably have been better.)
