ERP Visual Enterprise version 9 - best reporting tools

I am a newly hired IT Software Manager for a company using Visual ERP. We are currently on version 8 and will be upgrading to 9 within a few months. We own licensing for both Crystal and Synoptix with Crystal being used much more heavily. There are hundreds of Crystal reports which the users depend on and view with the free viewer. We own a couple of licenses for Crystal development. In regards to Synoptix, it is not widely used and we have approximately 10 licenses. I know there are great capabilities here but we just haven't made the time to make full use of Synoptix. Then there is SSRS ... which we are not using but would consider this if it makes sense. What is working as far as reporting goes for the rest of you? Do we need Crystal and Synoptix? Is there one reporting tool that will meet all our needs (dashboard, scheduling, drill-down capability, etc.)?

We recently upgraded from v7 to v9, and we mostly use Crystal for non Visual reporting (not QRP's).

We have 2 key Visual add-ons (Visual Cut for scheduled reporting, and Synergy's Report Launcher). Both of these utilize Crystal reports, and Report Launcher is integrated into Visual so users can access reports within Visual. We can also create PDF's from these Crystal reports if needed.

We also have Synoptix setup for Management reports, but that is used much less, and is accessed as a separate Web app.

I'm curious how other people respond to your question.

I'm a relative newbie to Visual (version 8), and just implemented SmartViews 4.14.1.0. I'm happy with this so far, as it's fairly user-friendly. We do NOT do Accounting reporting out of it, but I use it for a large number of items such as Scheduling, Backlog, Shipments, Inventory, Efficiency, Payables, and Receivables.

We currently use Crystal Reports, but ours needs updates, which we cant seem to get any where. We are currently on version 8.0 for visual . Im working now on putting 9 into place for testing, but the project is about to hit a stall, we buy the different modules to add on, example, just purchased IQM, and we can not have a test environment due to the fact the database is licensed key specific to the DB name.

We primarily use SSRS and Power BI in our IT department to deliver reports to the users. A few of our users have Crystal reports however we have been trying to phase them out because they are constantly creating reports with invalid data and since we don't have a Crystal server, it can't be managed administratively. We do have Synoptix however have not implemented due to time constraints. I would strongly prefer that to Crystal since it takes care of most the table structures and reduces the possibility of producing invalid reports.

We use SSRS for most of our reports. Fore more advanced reports and dashboard we are using Tableau software and will be using PowerBi next year since Tableau is hard to find knowledgeable resources. On 9.0.1 and upgrading to 9.0.5 this weekend.
