using RQ13 to approve outside of the normal process flow

when we use RQ13 to directly approve a req and bypass the flow of approval escalations we have to go in to the WU and cancel that req to stop the escalation of email notifications for approvals. Is there way to not have to cancel the WU REQ request? how are others handling approvals outside of the process flow? Thank you.

One option is to check the status for approved or rejected reqs after each approval level, and have a branch task to take it out of the path to the RQ13 if the status isn't "Released". That will end the WU if the criteria is met. You could also handle each status differently if desired.

In v10 IPA, we do the unrelease, escalation, or approvals using Rich Client, Process Server Administration,>Administration>Work Units

In v9, we used the Business Process Manager (BPM) tool.

The only time we use RQ13 is if a work unit gets corrupted and we have to unrelease the req and restart the flow.
