Remote Applications/Remote Desktop Environment

I cannot seem to find any discussions about providing Visual Enterprise remotely as an application or in a desktop session. I can't be the only one out there doing this. I have begun to perform this task myself but the biggest hurdle is the INI files. How to keep unique config files for each user? I have been trying to use the reg key Local Directory and using %USERPROFILE%Documents as the path but Visual only sees this as plain text and doesn't use the current user's profile path.

This is the same idea of having one workstation that multiple users log into to use Visual. How do you keep unique INI config files for each user that logs into this one workstation?

I use the "Local Directory" reg key for this, but the full path to the user's folder is spelled out. To my knowledge, Infor does not support using Visual Manufacturing on a terminal server, and that is probably why you do not see much discussion of it.

I have it install on a terminal server and also we use citrix, and it works.

to keep unique INI configs, i set the regedit for specific users as roaming profiles. so when user A logs in, i just regedit the local directory to the roaming profile. No issues.

I solved this by using a batch file that copies the Visual.ini to the named Local Directory for the current profile and then calls a PowerShell script that opened the VM.exe naming the current profile the Local Directory. The reg key is not needed or required. Each user now gets their own set of config files in their Documents folder. This can be ran right on the client or published as a remote application as I needed.
