MS Addin crashing excel

All

I have probably 10 employees in accounting and payroll that use MS Addins. Some have the 64 bit micros and windows 7/windows 10.

In the past month I have 3 people who are all 64 bit that when they finish an upload or cancel using msaddin, excel crashes and has to be recovered.

We had a support ticket but really wasn't much help.

So far we have spent hours trying to identify cause and thought I'd reach out here.

I have totally reinstalled ms addin, reinstalled excel to no avail.

They are running .Net versions higher than 4.5.1 but as I understand .net, it is backwards compatible. Support said has to be 4.5.1, however I have others running 4.6 or 4.7 and they are fine.

Our pc tech group indicates you can no longer roll back to 4.51.

I forgot to add/clarify that I know 64 bit vs 32 is based on Excel and not the pc OS..

We were having that issue and found that the version of Add-ins was the issue. We upgraded to the latest release and it resolved the issue.

Hmm.. I already did that in February.. I'll go look and see if there might be a newer one

Development had to do some re-writing in the common security file that is used for logging in and out and that fix has been put into Add-Ins v10.0.7.280, I think it was. That's what I have now and it no longer hangs on exit.

Well, since xtreme doesn't show date stamp on the version releases, seeing your post, what I downloaded in February was .196 so we just downloaded the latest which does show as 280 so we will see how it turns out.

They hide the version number on you. When you get to the "Product Download: Infor Lawson Add-Ins for Microsoft Office - Windows 10.0.7.0" page, click the plus sign to the left of "Infor Lawson Add-Ins for Microsoft Office xx-bit". That will expand the section and show the version number.

Ok, I tried to install the 64-bit version of MOA v10.0.7.280 onto one of our problem PCs that has 64-bit Office and received an error:

Installation failed! Error identifying the MS Excel bitness. Please make sure that the installed MS Office is supported by Infor Lawson Add-Ins. The system cannot find the file specified.

Hi Lizette, If you change the version of Add-Ins on the computer, be sure to take a look at the READ ME file in the sample workbook zip file Self-contained directory. The last page tells you which version of the workbook to use based on the version of Add-Ins you have installed. I have three versions of the NET workbooks because of changes to the common security module sec-api.dll. If you are using the wrong workbook, it will throw a compile error right away.
