Hi -
We've been tasked to start actually operating within our records retention policy and purge employee data. Head spinning! Obviously, there are regulatory retention requirements associated with benefits, garnishments, and payroll data, so we'll work within those parameters. But, all the "regular" employee data...argh. It makes me a bit queasy to think of purging a terminated employee knowing they could apply to come back in 10-15 years... and we won't remember a thing about them. And, when we implemented GHR back in 2016, we converted all our S3 employee data, back to 1992, I believe, so we have records and records and records! But, it makes business sense to have a retention policy so we're going to do it!
My question is...are there any other S3/TM clients that have purged employees records? How did you approach the task? And, do you have a regular purge process set up for ongoing purging?
If there's someone out there that's tackled record purging, I'd love to talk with you.
Thanks.
