I open the error in Excel. The UniqueRecordId will list the record number (i.e. 1094C-18-00223282|1|68 - record number is 68). I then open the xml file and look for that record ID to determine who the employee is.



Since we know our employee's SSN is correct, the issue is usually a covered dependent. I attempt to confirm dependent SSNs to be sure something was entered in correctly. Most of the time I end up deleting the dependent SSN on BN96 (this removes it from the electronic file but leaves it in tact on HR13). Since we have the dependent DOB the IRS will accept the record without the SSN.
