IPA assistance on a 'delete' record on pr39

We are using iPA commands to delete records from PR39 and then add new ones for specific deduction code. The 'add' works however when the 'delete' function is done. When the delete function is needed, get a message of Inquire before a change or delete but we can't see how to do that via ipa commands We are on a tight timeline as we had it written one way but found issue with it and now need to figure this out for a new process that needs to be in place next week.

Any idea how to get this to work?

The fields that I have on the upload workbook for deleting records from PR39.1 are as follows:

"Real-People Name" FieldName Sample Values

The key to this one is the Sequence Number. That is not visible on the form but may be obtained by doing a query against the ONETMDED table which can be found underneath the PR - Payroll system code. Pull the Company, Employee, Ded-Code, Ded-Amt, Effect-Date and Seq-Nbr fields and use index OTDSET1 and set the keys to filter down the data.

Maybe you can help with the next hurdle. Here is what we are doing... we are looking if anyone has a certain deduction code, if so delete it. We have that working now thanks to your reply. Then in the same ipa, we are looking at a file from our Gift Shop point of sale to then add for that deduction code. We are using the 'd' to delete and works, then the 'a' add and they show up in the pr39.1 screen . however payroll indicates the actual process to pull them in for deductions is not working. She tested and sees the lines and she went to one that exists, used the function of 'a' add and then it duplicated so 2 lines for that person. but then the pay process pulled both deductions. Any ideas what we may be doing wrong here?

When the add is attempted manually in the PR39.1 form for that employee, does another form open asking which deduction to select? If so, try uploading to PR39.3 instead.

We found the issue to be those employees had balances on pr14 (split pays). Was supposed to be cleared but I guess that step was forgotten. Once we cleared the balance on pr14, the records we put in pr39 were pulled in and ran as expected with payroll cycle.
