Inactivating items on open Reqs and PO's

We have recently had an issue where an item was allowed to be inactivated while it was on an open PO and open requisition. Is there a way to prevent the item from allowing us to inactivate when this is the case? If not, can someone share their workflow process to try to keep this from occurring.

As long as the item is active in at least one IC12 location then this should prevent inactivation.

In CTP--116342 we introduced the 'D' Discontinued status.

Solution

On IC12 Item Location added a value to the Status field of “D” Discontinued. This would allow RQ to request the item from inventory but would not allow the item to be reordered.

On IC11 Item Master added a value to the Status field of “D” Discontinued. This would say that ALL locations for that item could only issue and not order this item. This could not be overridden at the Item Location.
