We are allowing our employees to enroll on line within the first 30 days of employment and they are effective the first of the following month. The issue we are running into is as follows:
An employee is hired on April 2nd and becomes benefit eligible on June 1st. The benefit rule allows for an employee to register for benefits within 30 days of hire. The employee logs on to register for benefits on May 15th but the system will not allow the New Hire Benefit Enrollment to take place because the employee has been employed for over 30 days even though we give them through the end of the month to enroll.
Is there a way around this issue?
