Integrate external systems using API

We are looking for ways to better integrate systems with Lawson.  One we're looking at now is ServiceNow (IT service delivery).  We would like to be able to call Lawson Data and Transaction calls using ServiceNow's javascript tools.  However, when reading the doc for developers, it looks like you have to use Java in order to authenticate.

Has anyone done something like this where they called Lawson servlet calls from an external system?

I'm assuming that this question pertains to the Infor Lawson version 10 release applications. In that case, the easiest way to integrate another system to the Infor Lawson version 10 applications is to use Infor Process Automation (IPA). It has various means to connect to non-Infor systems and it can fully execute the Infor Lawson APIs to query or input data.
