Configurations-Fields on Employee Profile grayed out in ESS when in HTML5 web app but not in Rich Cl

Hi all,

I have had a case with Infor opened since 4/6/18 regarding fields "grayed out" (unable to select) in the web app (HTML5) but do all in Rich Client. They are all on the Profile-At A Glance tab. Our employees use the web app and not only do the few custom fields I've created have this issue, but the standard Lawson ones as well. For example The standard drop downd won't work in TEST & DEV but does in PROD. (Screenshot below) I have tried configurations, security, had a web ex and we still can't figure it out. Development is looking at it but I'm at a loss. They were able to reproduce it and had me make a change to one of the security classes, which I did copy the Employee_ST role, renamed it and renamed the security class and made the change because we have a lot of custom security. I assigned it to a test user and it still does not work. What I keep mentioning to them is that these are okay in LTMPROD but not LTMDEV & LTMTEST. I have done configurations on other forms, lists, etc. without a problem. We had a major upgrade in the fall and had Infor do the implementation with us. Prod was first and then Dev & Test. Prod went pretty smooth, but Dev and Test did not. There were a lot of issues with data copy, security, configurations, etc,. Something I just found recently was that the Parameter Configurations in Rich Client had lmkprod in some links, which I changed. It's like there is something, somewhere in PROD that is missing in Test & Dev or is just "wrong" in Test 7 Test. I have had my co workers restart WebSphere, reboot, etc. and nothing is working. We also moved to 2012 servers and I don't know if any server configurations could be affecting this or not. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I guess I wouldn't think it's security class/roles , else wouldn't be able to access via Rich Client either.

I would try just to narrow down and put back the delivered employee st role/class and back out any config consoles you have on that page just for trying to diagnose. If everything 'delivered' and fields are still 'greyed' out via html5 then that's a starting point to work with whomever does your html5 'work'.

So a couple of basics, just to rule them out:

1. When you are testing between environments, you are using the EXACT same security in both?

2. You are editing the LRCEmployeeAtAGlanceDetail form and not the LRCFullEmployeeProfileForm, correct?

Then, can you add screen shots of the GUI configuration interface and LPL code for one of these fields from this form, from PROD and either DEV or Test?

Thank you everyone for your ideas. My emails must be getting blocked, as I didn't get notifications, but we just went live on GOOGLE gmail. Anyway, all of your thoughts are things I had looked at and then some. I did have a web ex with Infor support including developers and they were Awesome and resolved the issue! I learned some other things during the webex that I was not aware of that will be extremely useful for sure, which may be of use to others.

As it turns out, there was a one configuration on a menu that someone had done that was not in our department ( I just discovered that today) and I had copied that from TEST to DEV, not knowing. Lesson learned there is to copy from PROD if in doubt!

The configuration was on the LRCEmployeeMenu and had restricted update access on the profile. That was the problem. Once that one line was removed it worked. I had been focusing on security and configurations on the LRCEmployeeAtAGlanceDetail, not that Menu.

Another thing I learned that may be helpful to some, as I did not know, is in Rich Client, if you select the Employee Icon, Springboard, (HotSpot Menu), that does not always replicate what is in HTML5. My field DID work before it was fixed when I used the Employee Icon in RIch Client, which lead me to believe there was an HTML5 issue. However, before it was fixed during the web-ex, they went into the drop downs instead: Applications, Employee, MyProfile and it would NOT work, which was what I was seeing in HTML5. From now on I will take that route in Rich Client when troubleshooting HTML5, not thru the "hotspot" icon.
