I am new to the Infor ION world. I am wanting to try and setup a process by which an Infor CloudSuite Distribution application (setup for my client) integrates with a Liaison ECS server(setup by us) by passing files between them. Specifically, I am interested in the exchange of information on SalesOrders, Invoices and Shipments for B2B purposes. I did like the CloudSuite Distribution application to be able to pull "SalesOrder" data in the form of BOD files from this external server. Similarly, the CloudSuite Distribution application should be able to push "Invoices" and "Shipments" data in the form of BOD files to this external server.
I can see that I can establish FTP connectivity in the form on "Connection Points" on the ION Desk. But that is the only thing I could get to. I would like to learn about the following.
1. How do I schedule a process such that it establishes the FTP connection and pulls files waiting there? How do I then change direction such that I push some files into it?
2. How do I post these files inward? In other words, how do I import these BODs into actual documents inside of the CloudSuite Distribution application?
3. How do I extract documents and create BODs out of it? How do I store these on specific folders and use these to be pushed out to the server?
4. I could not find much documentation regarding ION Desk on the Infor CloudSuite. Is there any other place where I can find it?
5. The FTP connectivity to establish communication with the external server is not mandatory. The external server can also communicate through HTTP Posts. Is there a different way to achieve this functionality using HTTP rather than FTP?
I would appreciate any/all pointers.
