Assume a WO demand required date of 7/9 of a particular purchased requirement. A PO has been cut for that requirement but the vendor can at best only deliver on 8/1 for extenuating circumstances.
If we use the vendor's 8/1 delivery date, the DBR Scheduler pops planned orders for the 7/9 requirement date. Not a problem other than we know we can't meet that 7/9 date, so the plan is superfluous and creates noise in the material planning window.
If we use the 7/9 the PO will show to be late even though the vendor has expressly stated that the best they can do is 8/1.
What is the best way to handle this?
