To All:
We received a recent communication from CenPOS that we felt was important enough to pass on to the FACTS community. This communication is regarding the Certificate of Authority Public Keys (CAPK) being mandated for EMV POS solutions by the various credit card companies.
As the communication was confusing (at least to me it was) I contacted CenPOS directly to find out what, if any, action needs to be taken. The clarification I received is that this mandate is entirely related to the merchant's need to update their VeriFone and/or Ingenico credit card devices out in the field.
For any of your end-users using FACTS and the CenPOS/FACTS interface along with VeriFone and/or Ingenico credit card devices you'll want to insure they contact their CenPOS representative to see what needs to be done to upgrade their credit card devices and/or the CenPOS Bridge software in order to be in compliance with this new mandate from the Credit Card providers.
A copy of the original communication is attached.
