using importdb through IPA and want to capture the log to email

Just starting to use IPA for our importdb scripts that are still done in unix scripting. I need to capture the log from the importdb so it can be emailed to the user. Does anyone do this now?

What I believe you are looking for is in the _outputData and _errorOutput fields. The outputData shows number of records imported and the _errorOutput shows any errors or warnings.

Thanks so much. I'm fairly new to IPA. Does anyone, by chance, have an example that wouldn't mind sharing showing this being done? Thanks in advance.
