Documentation on how to write a custom widget

Hello everybody,

i am learning how to program and upload standard widget in Infor. I have not found a usefull documentation till now.

I wrote a widget and try to load it but i receive an error(unable to import widget, check the content of the zip).

Can someone help?

Hi,
First, is this a on-prem installation or a cloud installation of Ming.le Homepages?
Upload in cloud is not supported.

For an on-prem installation make sure that you have used the package script that comes with the Homepages Widget SDK.
The latest version of the SDK can be found here: github.com/.../homepages-widget-sdk

As an administrator in an on-premise installation you navigate to standard widgets and there there is an import option. If there is a validation error with the zip the newer versions of the SDK there are more validations built it.

I would however start and check that the content of the zip is only a set of files, no .ts files no hidden system folders etc. We have seen issues with hidden system folder when you are on a Mac, if you zip the files manually. For the best experience I would recommend using the pack script.

Also note that subfolders are not allowed and all files should be minified. If this is an on-premise installation there might be more information in the log on the server. The Widget SDK contains documentation on how to package the widget, but it does not give you that much information what is causing the upload issue.

Please check that you are uploading in the Standard widgets admin tool and not the published widgets tool. How to install is described in the Developers guide in the 'Packaging widgets for an on-premise installation' section.
