ACA 1095C and 1094C form corrections

Hi,

I need to correct Offer and Safe Harbor codes for 100 employees. I was going to use BN527 to upload the corrections until noticing a Knowledgebase article describing the use of BN97. Is BN97 the standard method for creating corrections? If that's the case, does someone share a BN97 MS Addins template? Do I have to transmit to the IRS the 1094 and 1095C corrections separately? This is my first time transmitting ACA corrections. Suggestions and comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

I've done all corrections via BN95 (haven't used BN527). BN97 is used to specify which of the original 1095c records you are correcting. When you run BN299, the 1094C and 1095C XML files are created just for the records that you specified in BN97 as being corrected. For both BN97 and BN299, you must specify the IRS receipt ID that has the records that you are correcting.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I am beginning to understand. I also need to add an employee that was missing from the original submission file. Can that be done in the Correction File?

I don't know how to handle that situation. I don't think you can send it in the Correction File, because the corrections must match employees in your original file and I don't think you should send a Replacement File, because your original file was accepted. So, my guess is that you have to send the missing employee in a new original file containing only that employee.
