Lawson Security Admin - Field Access

We are trying to determine a way to list all users who have access to update an employee pay rate field (HR11, PR36, PR30, PA52, HR14...etc), as well as users who have access to inquire on the pay rate field. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished? I am not finding a report that can be run in Lawson Security Admin that focuses on field access.

We recently tried to do the same with providing a list of who has access to view SSNs, and Lawson seemingly has nothing to help with that kind of query. It became a very painful process.

I don't think there is a global way to do it (i.e. pay rate in any form on any screen). I just tried creating an Object Security Report using "EMP-PAY-RATE" as the object. When I ran that, it brought back all the access built against the HR11 pay rate field. So, you could look up the pay rate field across all forms and tables that you're concerned with and do an object security report with that.

PA52 will be a challenge though since pay rate doesn't show up in a specific position on the form.

Our organization has typically done this by having a spreadsheet matrix of our roles to security classes so we can find what roles have pay access and then run a report on it.

I don't think there is a report that drills down specifically to the field, but you can run an Object Security Report for the form you are interested in. The report should give you the rule on the form, security class assigned that rule, roles that contain that security class, and the users assigned that role.

Since the rule on the form populates down to the individual fields on the form it could give you a good start.

Not a quick answer for you, but Avaap has a Security Dashboard product with some really good security reporting.

Likewise, we had the same need which justified a third party tool we have called Kinsey. Kinsey and Avaap are vendors at the Infor trade shows filling some of these needs. Kinsey tools has worked out great for us.

I have also used Kinsey. IMO their security reports are the best of what is available (we looked at the AVAAP product, and it was decent, but all their reports were over crystal and we were an SSRS shop).

Kinsey Downside: I never liked the fact that they use MySQL and you have to modify websphere to bolt it on. This was a pain for our Lawson sever admin. When there was an issue, their tech response tended to lack urgency. And you paid by the hour for support, even with a service contract.
