What can others tell me about working with VANs other than GHX for EDI processing with Lawson?

Specifically, what can others tell me about Vizient and their capablilities/relationship with Lawson for EDI.

I would be interested in hearing about any other VANs that others have had experience with as well.

We work with Vizient. Supply chain made the decision to do so. Technical support has been fairly smooth. We have one http/AS2 connection set up with Vizient and use Lawson EDI with the usual/normal ED40 substitutions. We send every 15 minutes and process inbound files three times per day. The MA540 runs nightly and AP users have access to run on demand as they process MA54 records.

I don't know about v11.

Yes, Vizient can be used w/ v11. We had a kickoff call w/ them today. We are v10 which doesn't allow SFTP so we have to install another software to transmit the files. They said that if we were on v11, SFTP is an added feature. This is an Infor issue not Vizient, but Vizient won't allow FTP which is all Infor offers in v10.

We use Edict Systems for our VAN. Easy to work with and responsive to issues. They don’t have the broad menu of services like GHX but they do have a web interface solution for those smaller vendors that are not EDI capable so it’s EDI on your end with a portal to view the orders on their end. We run about 50% of our PO lines throughout EDI which is less than most GHX customers I’m sure. But I’m not so sure the cost of GHX is worth that extra 25-30%.
