Inforum topics this year

Yes, YES, YES!!! InforOS, Visual, Birst etc etc I'm sure some are using these things, I just want to see basic Lawson technology for v10.* and migration paths to whatever is next. We have a pretty vanilla deployment with no layers or add-ons really. We have 10-20 flows and about as many custom forms. All of our reporting and dashboard stuff is done through our DWH as it contains other relevant data and not just Lawson data and is easier than trying to get that other data into Lawson/Infor's reporting suites.

The hours seem to be off this year as well, with the days starting later and going longer into the evening. If it wasn't for Lenny Kravits... lol

To my mind, Inforum/Cue has always been an expensive waste of time. We find the LUG conferences to be more informative and a much better value. We sent employees to a tech ed conference this year for the first time, and also found it worthwhile.

Our business owners/analysts use to attend CUE/Inforum, but the traditional Lawson functional classes have been getter more and more scarce. I think there is one AP class, one GL class, and one Payroll class this year. I think everyone understands that it is a sales and marketing conference, but there used to be a little meat on that bone. Now...not so much. Also agree with the comment about the local or regional/mega meetings having more usable content and value.

Honestly, I would not even have bothered signing up if I had realized how useless this conference was now. A total waste of my company's money I think.

Like a boat show. They will throw in some free seminars here and there but all it is really is to showcase the boat. Marketing at our expense.

I guess I have a different perspective. I am excited to see what is in store for the GHR payroll and some other items related to that module.

Also, I guess it depend on your user group........I find most of the time presentations are recycled Inforum presentations at UGs.

I would agree with the post about the tech ed conference. I went to a specialty one the other year in San Diego. It was very good, more intimate and on the order of the old CUEs

I guess it really depends on where you are with there products. I personally have several sessions to attend. But we are in process of lifting to the cloud and implementation of Birst along with that, so I'm eager to hit as many sessions around all of that as well as the changes with Landmark and the security to go along with it.

My challenge is there are so many I want to hit but so many overlap.

Infor's future is on the Landmark platform and it appears evident with the offerings at the conference this year.

I'm sure there are folks that can find more sessions that apply to them, but for someone that is coming strictly from the technology side (I have little to do with the functional side of things and we only have the Lawson HRPR product), the offerings are nearly nil.

We have never done anything with the user groups - I guess we will have to start looking at those instead.

Good afternoon! First off, I would like to thank everyone for their input and passion around Inforum. We take our customers' input and feedback very seriously, and we will always try and incorporate that feedback into this and future conferences as much as possible.

As we try and plan our agenda for Inforum every year, we always try to balance sessions on products that have been available for awhile (such as Lawson S3 v10), those that are newer and starting to be adopted by growing numbers of customers (such as CSF v11), and those new innovations that are still being developed and will be out shortly.

Last year at Inforum, roughly 50% of our sessions were applicable to customers deployed on Lawson S3 v10. This year those numbers are the pretty much the same.

There are over 100 sessions that apply to our Lawson S3 v10 customers, covering Financials, Supply Chain, HR/Payroll and Technology topics. Within Technology, there are sessions that cover Lawson System Foundation, the User Experience (Portal and Ming.le), Process Automation, System Console, Security, Microsoft Addins, Spreadsheet Designer, Landmark, Configuration Console, Analytics and more. In addition, there are numerous Lawson S3 v10 customer success stories that came in via the Call for Papers that are being presented as well.

In addition there are another 100+ sessions that provide our customers detailed application and technology overviews as they look forward to adopting CSF and GHR v11. Although you may not be ready to start planning your upgrade, we do encourage our Lawson S3 v10 customers to begin learning about v11 and the other innovations that are either available today or coming in the next few months, so that you can properly build these solutions into your own roadmap plans. As an example, CSF 11 has over 650 new features and capabilities that were never in Lawson S3 v10, so there is a lot to learn about and plan around.

So long story short, there is extensive content available to customers whether they are content staying on Lawson S3 v10, starting to plan for a migration to either CSF v11 or GHR v11, or already in process to moving to (or live on) those latest releases. If there is a problem locating those sessions within the online session catalog, please definitely let us know so that we can assist you and ensure that your teams have full visibility to the available sessions at Inforum to properly plan their visit and maximize their investment.

One more note - as many of you know, I used to be a client and one that was heavily involved in the local user groups. They certainly are a great resource for interacting with other customers and with Infor in a more intimate setting. But to me, there was no replacement for Inforum - to the depth and breadth of knowledge available at the conference both in and out of the sessions, in the halls, in the hub, etc. To talk with and meet with fellow customers that have similar experiences and lessons to be passed along that maybe don't exist down the road but across the country - which will never happen at a local user group meeting. And the sheer numbers of Infor SMEs to leverage and lean on - virtually all of the product management team that design and directs the product roadmap, and many of the developers and support engineers that are hands on with the product all day every day - that can never be replicated at a local user group meeting.

In my view - as a former customer - Inforum could have been a week long and still not been enough time to soak in all that is being offered to help you be successful with our company and our products. Being able to gain insights on those products I am currently using in production while at the same time being able to review what is coming and help shape my own companies future product deployment - it is the best of both worlds.

I understand the comments about various aspects of Inforum being a marketing event. But if you move past the opening sessions and the flashy mainstage presentations, and zero in on the detailed product sessions that I have outlined above - there is real content for each and every customer to consume. As much as I would like, I can't meet with each and every one of you to help you get the most out of your investment in attending Inforum. But I would be happy to help in any way that I can to help ensure that you have a positive experience and continue to attend in the years to come.

Very well stated Hans. The only issue I've had is making sure that I haven't missed any sessions. The search and filter features on the session forum are not the best and depending on how I have filtered or searched, I get different results when they are all related topics.

Hi Jeff - we are investigating this, as some of our own internal folks have found similar results. Will get back to you soon with hopefully a solution. For now, I offer this: All FSM-1xxx sessions are generally for Financials 11, all FSM-2xxx are for Supply Chain 11, all FSM-3xxx are Technology (both v10 and v11), and all LW-xxxx are for v10 specific topics. There are some sessions in the FSM-1xxx and FSM-2xxx that are certainly applicable to v10 customers running our Landmark products - and there are case studies and sessions there around planning to and migrating to v11. There are also a few sessions in FSM-9xxx and the Healthcare track (HL-xxxx). I believe all the HCM sessions start with HCM-xxxx.

Hans, after I basically wasted half of the first day, I realized that many of the technology related sessions were offered under a non-technology track. I NEVER LOOKED THERE. Seriously I found lots of good stuff, after I realized that. But the website sort of lends itself to filtering to your own type of class, so naturally, I chose the technology track. Kinda frustrating to find this out after you've missed a whole day. Another frustrating thing was that I couldn't see the room numbers unless I downloaded the app onto my phone. I hate that. I don't want to have to download yet another app...for something that is a week long. All the information should be easily accessible via the website.

True with the rooms. However, last year I had all of the rooms for my presentations on a paper schedule in my pocket. Then the night before Inforum started, I opened the app to find a room for one of my presentations for a client. There I noticed that ALL of my rooms had been changed on me for the presentations I was doing. This was done to accommodate the larger crowds that were not planned for. It was lucky that I happened to check.

Don, I am fine with checking the website on my phone, for updates. What I dislike is having to download some app. I have app avoidance. :-)
