2006-2010 Census Codes - OFCCP Requirements effective 01/01/14

All Federal Contractors will be required to use the 2006-2010 Census codes in our utilization analyses for the affirmative action plan date of 01/01/14. The one change is from a 3 character census code to a 4 character census code. The current EEO_SUB_CODE field is limited to 3 characters. We submitted an enhancement request to change the field to 4 characters to adhere to the OFCCP requirments. There has been no response. I am wondering if there are others in the same situation. If so, what are you doing?

I am in IT and we recently helped HR adjust our Position Codes from the 3- to 4-character codes. A combination of Microsoft Add-Ons and HR515.

I spoke to our IT group regarding our options... I was told that if the field in the database is only 3 characters there is no way we can force 4 in there. What version are you running?

We are running 9.0.1.6 applications. Our census codes are stored in PA04 as Alpha Fields. These fields have a maximum lenght of 10 characters.

Thanks. We are applying the census codes to our job codes on HR06...there is a user field option (HR15.3). We were hoping to avoid this sicne it can be overlooked with adding a new job code.

Did you open a CASE? Did you enter it as a regulatory enhancement in the new system?

I think I would try both and hope.

I started this as a CASE and they recommended adding the enhancement. I completed both over a month ago. I think I am going with the user field option although it is not my preferred method. (at least until there is a response)

Have you looked at HR22.1? Below is form descripton from HR22.

Job Occupation Codes
Use Job Occupation Codes (HR22.1) to define country-specific occupation codes for a job code. For example, a job code can be associated with a US census code as well as with a Canadian NOC code.
The same occupation code can be used in more than one country. In addition, any one country may have more than one occupation code.
