automating user provisioning

Has any body successfully automated user provisioning?

The IPA flow apparently does not populate the Lawson Environment Information screen. Is there any other way to accomplish this?

The only way to do this is to update the necessary GEN tables. This is not supported by Infor.

The GEN tables are not what the OP is actually asking about. The Lawson Environment screen is in the LDAP back-end to the security tool(s). Again, no other way that is supported by Infor.

We use an IPA flow for our new hire user provisioning, but it is only for ESS access. It doesn't include adding the OS Identity or populating the Lawson Environment Information. I would think you should be able to accomplish this with a WebRun node. I played with it a little bit in our test environment but can't quite get it to work correctly. If I do get it to work, I'd be happy to share it with you.

I was able to successfully update the Lawson Environment Information using a combination of the MsgBuilder and WebRun nodes. As Greg mentioned previously, this method most likely will not be supported by Infor but it does work.

Just to note we are on LSF 10.0.8 and using a Windows Environment.

The web program I used was: /scwebadminapp/UserProvisioningServlet?<!EnvInfo>

And the variable from the MsgBuilder was:

Not that it really matters but we are actually on LSF 10.0.9 and Landmark is 11.0.6

What value specifically are you trying to populate. You can use the Lawson Resource Update Node.

Just because the value doesn't show up in the "build" table doesn't mean you can't determine the value and populate it yourself.

Josh, the Lawson Environment Information Fields/Attributes are not available attributes within the Resource Update node. Nor can you manually add them, that I can tell. The only attributes listed in the build are those that fall under the Edit RM Information within Lawson Security Administrator.

Oh my apologies. That is why I was asking which field specifically. I use that node to update the Lawson Environment Information to set the Data Area/ID field. I had to work with support because that field didn't show up in the resource node but we were able to add it manually.

How exactly did you manually add it to the ResourceUpd node?

We were able to successful set up a user with IPA. It does require multi steps and on include running a sync. Make sure in your testing you are running a sync.

Would you be able to provide the flow?

And with all the discussion, this should be a software enhancement request to make it easier. Has anyone created it already? If so, what's the number and bump it's priority/interest.
