SOAP based API into ION API

Hi,

We are facing issue when we are using ION API into connection points it not listing operations.

Please see the detail explanation which we have tried so far.

i) Configured soap API into ION API as non infor application.

After the configuration loaded the WSDL into API gateway.

After loading WSDL, testing the same from monitor and testing proxy URL from other application and it is able to exchange the information, but when we are trying the API into connection point by selecting operation button it is unable list any documents

It is not listing any documents even though wsdl is loaded.

Please help me if anything is incorrect here and anyone has idea on this.

HI Somasekhar,

As per my knowledge, ION API Operations will be listed only when it has Swagger documentation deifined. Even though WSDL is provided at the time of the documentation, it wont consider this WSDL to list the operations. For this what I would suggest is to write a custom swagger documentation which list all the operations provided by WSDL and then upload this Swagger documentation. In this way we can list the operations we need to use.

What local app server are you using e.g. Tomcat, jetty ?

Are you sure that SCE10.4 is using SOAP exchanges ? I think the APIs are mix of REST & SOAP.

Thanks for your quick response.

Yes SCE 10.4 uses SOAP webservice, sample testing has already been done from SOAP UI.
And REST are introduced in SCE 11 version but the requirement is currently on 10.4 with SOAP.

I thought the WSDL list was given and it can be used in connection point, as per your suggestion now I will try to write custom swagger documentation and check the results.

RaviKiran is correct. While the API Gateway supports both REST and SOAP services, ION Doc Flows and Workflows support only REST. So you must transform the SOAP services in some way to make them "look" like REST. One way to do this is to use Open API Specfication (aka Swagger) as documentation in the API Gateway. Others have used middleware between the target API and the API gateway to transform the data. However you choose to accomplish it, the APIs won't show up in Doc Flows and Workflows until they act like REST APIs.
