ESS Ben Enrollment - Primary Care Physician field

During our Open Enrollment in ESS (S3 msp 10.0.8) this year, we would like to have employees report their Primary Care Physician.

We found in HR11, there is a Primary Care Physician field that has 'drop down' data that can be populated.

To save me some time, has anyone used this to direct me to

1. How to populate that drop down

2. How to have this field appear for with the ESS enrollment page

We used this field during our open enrollment and because there were so many primary car physicians to choose we allowed the employee to type in the number of the PCP. That number stayed in the system eventually making a list of PCP's.

If you all don't mind my asking, I am curious to know what is the value of having this information as part of the employee record? You can't contact them to get any information. If the employee becomes ill or is injured on the job, you're not going to call them. Thank you!

It's my understanding they want to see how many have primary care physicians and then perhaps try an outreach of sorts to pair them with our primary care physicians but I'm not 100% sure

I did find where to update the drop down (HR80.9) and did find the field in the portal bookmarks. I am working thru an error at the moment but off to a start at least

In my past experience there are sometimes vendors that require this in the initial electronic data feed to them after the open enrollment closes. If an employee has not selected a primary care physician they automatically assign one. One vendor explained to me that their system requires it to print the employee health insurance cards, it was also a overall requirement that all patients must have a primary care physician if they were on any of their plans. I have not experienced this yet while working with Lawson, so I cannot be much help with set-up advice., just wanted to share what I know about this.

We have included it in annual enrollment in the past as a field that is completed for the caregiver and dependents when they confirm enrollment, but have taken off. Some caregiver thought it updated their medical record, others use physicians we don't have in the database and it wasn't maintained throughout the year, so we stopped asking for it.
