MRP - Part vs Part_Site

Hello All -

We are using Visual 8.0 and are single site. We have not used MRP to make purchasing and planning decisions and want to move in this direction. There are several fields duplicated on both the Part AND Part_Site table (i.e. Planning_Leadtime, Order_Policy, Order_Point, etc.). However, I only see data populated in the fields on the Part table. We recently did a mass update of the planning leadtime on fabricated parts and we also needed to update part, part_site and part_warehouse for planning leadtime to be displayed correctly in all areas of Visual. The information on Part_site appears to be critical for MRP exception reporting.

If we are single site, shouldn't data be populated on both tables? Is there a setting we are missing or are you managing this manually through SQL scripts or macros? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

We are in Visual 7.1.2, multi-site in Visual, but single-site in fact. I don't like mass update, but I did it for buyer and planner code. I did it for Part, Part_site and Part_warehouse the first time. After that, they are responsible to maintain this master data. They must do it in tenant and the site because when you create a new part by copied and old part, Visual will copied the information in tenant.



We use MRP to purchase raw material and we start in some area for planning. It's working very well with this process. I didn't put a scripts or macro. But I saw some inconsistently in the data in SQL. I think when you change a field in Part maintenance, Visual are not always updated all 3 tables. But the MRP report are working very well.
