Is anyone using Cloudsuite HCM Benefits??

I've been teaching myself the Benefits setup on Infor Cloudsuite HCM and am having quite the time of it. I'm looking for someone who may have some knowledge they'd be willing to share or let me bounce some thoughts/ideas off of. I can't take the training until my department gets a PO for it so I can sign up, so I'm stuck in the mud right now.

I am starting on this path as well so we are in the same boat for learning the setup. I am happy to discuss, however not too terribly far into the process just yet.

Check you tube for RPI. They did a good webinar on this.

Thank you, I watched all of the RPI webinars. They are good but not in depth enough for what I need. I've never worked with this product before so I'm not just learning the benefits but trying to piece together how everything interacts in the system overall. I've gotten through preliminary, plan and event setup but the further you get the more you realize why steps in the beginning are important (or what they even do) so there's a lot of going back and redoing setup as you move forward.

Tracy, I am happy to talk with you as you go through your setup. I may be able to answer some questions as I've gotten through preliminary, plan and event setup but I'm still not 100% how everything works and interacts so maybe if I throw a couple of questions your way we can help each other fill in the gaps.

Please do not consider this a "bad mouth" of RPI, Infor, Intellias, etc. It's more a comment of any vendor:

They will always tell (sell) you enough to get/keep you purchasing their product. But not enough that you don't need them. After all they do need (want) to stay in business and make a profit.

Realize that for the simple stuff, you could do it yourself. But how long/fast does it take to grow beyond your skill set and into really technical or business centric details? This is where they are banking on you coming to them with deep pockets.

Beautiful art is rarely cheap, likewise full feature systems are rarely easy or simple.

Maintaining a multitude of cats in one house is extremely difficult, so is the nature of multi-tenant Cloud hosting.

Tracy, how has your setup been going? We've gotten pretty far in ours and have identified some important steps/relationships along the way. I'm still struggling with understanding the Benefit Reason setup- what is it's function, what does it drive/trigger- if anything, how granular does the setup need to be, etc. Have you had much luck with that one?

I have been sidetracked by end of year work and am just now getting back to my setup. I am currently stuck in trying to get our custom groups to work using the primary work assignment only. Do you have that issue? The one area that I am finding the reason really shows is in the creation of the life events but it isn't a required field in that setup. Are you setting up life events?

Tracy - we are new to HCM Benefits (new to Infor/Lawson), but we have been successful at creating custom groups that use primary work assignments, and we are using Life Events. Here is an example of one of our custom groups:

(PrimaryWorkAssignmentExists and Employee.PrimaryWorkAssignment.Active and (Employee.RelationshipStatus= "E" or Employee.RelationshipStatus= "ED" or Employee.RelationshipStatus= "EM" or Employee.RelationshipStatus= "EX"or Employee.RelationshipStatus= "FT" or Employee.RelationshipStatus= "L"))

Tracy, I have setup life events, and have them (mostly) working. What issue are you running into regarding the primary work assignment?

Our company actually combines work assignments for eligibility, so I haven't tested the criteria for that but Amanda's note below looks appropriate to me based on what I've seen.
