Keith - We started using Lawson to manage linen about six months ago. I wouldn't say our process is air tight, but it seems to be working fine.
All linen items are set up in an IC12.1 with inventory tracking on, and an accurate SOH count. We use IC140 for replenishment and PO100 as with any other inventory item. All of the item masters for the linen are setup with an inventory tracking major (TRK) and minor class (LINN). We use these parameters on the IC140 job. When items fall below the ROP they get ordered up to the maximum we have set on the IC12.1.
Because we don't want to charge these items to departments they are set up as no charge items. The PO goes out without a cost and when they are received the PO closes (no charge). We pay for them by expensing the invoice.
