Retirement Contribution not stopping at limit

Hello,

We are testing in Infor for the new retirement contribution limits but are running into an issue. Instead of stopping at 25,000 it is going over.

We have an incident with INFOR who is looking into this. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and how they resolved it?

Hi Mira, is the payroll year set to 2019 on HR00?

We have seen this year that deductions we set Limits for (Retirement Contributions) we have had people go over the limit we set. This year was the first time we have ever seen this occur for us. To be clear this limit was set below the BSI limit do to coordination issues with another retirement plan. I would love to hear what Infor reports.

I also added 2019 bsi payment overrides for 2019 for 401k and my PR140 shows the contribution stopping at 25000 as expected. Mira, if you want to send a screen shot of your 2019 fed override from BSI, I would be happy to compare with ours.

Yes is set to 2019.

Hi Deedre,

Our Payroll team figured out the issue. The issue was the setup of the 403b in BSI. . In the field “Use EE Maximum” the Taxability field was changed from Nontaxable with YTD limit to Limit YTD. This resolved our issue.

We experienced the same issue on our last payroll of 2018. We had 18 employees that didn't stop at the annual limit of the 457 plans and BSI had the limits in place. No idea yet, why this happened. Has Infor provided any explanation yet?
