We went live with IIH this past December. While we are still ironing out a couple of bugs with data transmission (you must be on IPA CU16 or higher) it is working well. We partnered with Dynamic Science Labs to refine the perpetual inventory product and to develop the par location product.

The implementation is very easy and can be complete in a matter of weeks. There are IPAs that run jobs to extract your data and transmit bimonthly: so there is no live data in the application. The application allows you materials management staff to review the recommended reorder points and if accepted, an IPA will update the appropriate IC12/IC81s.

We are anticipating a 10-15% reduction in stock levels, but have really just started using the product so I cannot tell you actual reduction benefit. From an operations perspective, it saves all the time of manually calculating reorder points and min/max. It basically gives you EOQ modeling without having try to use it in S3.

Drawbacks - lack of reporting and separate security set up and maintenance.
