Deduction Class vs Deduction Group

What is the difference and why it is  so hard to find information on deduction groups?

I can see where that would be confusing. Deduction classes are a way to group deductions for reports and reporting. You have to define one for DC deductions to track maximum additions limits. A deduction code can't be assigned to more than one class.As I recall deduction groups came into play later as a way to accommodate W- 2 requirements.
