Hello-we are looking to replace GHX with another vendor. Is anyone using another vendor for their EDI connectivity?

We also have GHX, but are looking at other options. We have several "direct" EDI vendors -- which is OK for a limited number, but any other clearing houses?

We use Edict Systems. They don't have all the bells and whistles that GHX has but they're easy to implement with have great customer service. We had implemented GHX in 2001 and continued with them for a couple years after we implemented Lawson in 2003. But we felt the ROI was not there when they increased their fees. For a while we used various VANs along with direct FTP with a couple vendors. But with Edict we increased our EDI 850 output from 30% to 50%.

That's very interesting about Vizient. They are our primary GPO. I'd be very interested in a MetaTrade like service.

We just made the change from GHX to Vizient in December. We only use it for actual EDI vendors and did not purchase their Transaction Management piece where you can send all of your POs, regardless if they're an EDI vendor, through. I'm not sure of the cost for that but I was told it was pricey.

Just a few pieces of advice if you're looking to go from GHX to Vizient.

*Invoicing - If you really utilize the invoicing in GHX, understand that Vizient doesn't focus on that. I've put in suggestions for improvements but everything is based on PO number in their platform and it's a lot more work to get what you're looking for.

*New Platform - They just rolled out a new platform in October so it's still very new and they are working through different issues. I believe this will continue for some time before everything is ironed out but it can be frustrating, especially for the buyers.

*GHX Vendors - Vizient doesn't have direct connections with all of the vendors so they ultimately use GHX to transmit with a lot of them. This was a surprise to us as we learned it well after we were into the project. I believe the majority of our vendors still have to go through GHX.

*Customer Service - I will say their customer service has been really great. They are quick to respond and address any issues, which was a huge reason we left GHX. They also have reports that can be sent automatically each day which can be nice.

Overall, make sure to ask a lot of questions up front and understand exactly what you will be losing/gaining by switching from GHX.

Invoicing: are you saying that their MetaTrade-like product does NOT convert fax invoices to EDI 810s?

Vendors: I know there are some vendors like Angiodynamics, CR Bard and Zimmer that will only go through GHX. Edict has an agreement with some GHX vendors like J&J.

GHX customer service: I couldn't agree more. Since GHX bought Vendormate their service has gone down the tubes. As I knew it would.

We are starting to set up Prodigo Xchange but have yet to do a transmission.

Id like to resurrect this topic from 3 years ago. Has anyone made the leap to another Value Added Network to exchange EDI documents with their suppliers? There are quite a few VANS out there for other industries that are far superior and gets the data to/from the vendor without all the extra services. Also I have not received any information that Infor Cloudsuite V11 can use any other network. Id like to chat to someone who has migrated to another VAN service.
