Lawson Epic Interface and Update Triggers

Good morning,

First let me say that I’m a non-technical person looking for technical help so I may not ask the question correctly. We are currently on Lawson V10 and we interface with Epic. I know we use IC524 as our interface to Epic but I don’t know what triggers items to be part of this file. When we add an item to Lawson it’s picked up and part of the interface file but once it’s loaded what triggers it to flow again? There must be a list, a table or code somewhere in Lawson that defines when changes are made to specific field’s ic524 runs and picks them up. I want to know all of the fields when changed will trigger the items to be picked up by ic524 and where is this information stored? Where can I see this code or table? Can I define which fields trigger the update?

From my experience, the IC524 file is auditing changes in the item master (IC11.1) and item location setup (IC12 & IC81). The tables for these are ITEMMAST and ITEMLOC. Make a change in any of those forms and it should show up in the IC524. There may be other places, but that is all we have experienced. The file spec may be of use too, however, don't assume that because it pulls data from other tables that a change to those tables will be picked up by IC524. For example, make a change in PC10.1 for billable supplies and that change won't get pulled until you do something in one of those other tables even though it is pulling the PC10.1 data and that data did change. I've attached the spec file for v10.0.7 for your reference.

IC524 needs to detect a change "significant" to inventory to generate a change record - new SOH value, change in average cost, change in manufacturer information, etc.

I don't believe ALL changes to IC12/IC11 trigger it though - I remember having issues with description updates, etc but it has been several years since we used it. Epic went live here with a custom SQL for just such reasons.

Suggest Use Audit=No

• Non Audit method reads all items and compares to the last extract (workfile). If any field was changed, the item will be extracted (this was the only option available before the Audit option was added in June 2016)

• Will extract items that have any field changed since the last run; includes all the costs on the extract including the contract costs.

If you are using IPA/BODs there is a trigger for IC11 and IC12
