LS Implementation - Cache Problem

We are trying to test our new LS setup for users, and am continually getting Unknown Exceptions trying to access forms. If I log on as a non-LS user, clear the IOS cache, and then log on again as the LS user, then the form seems to come up ok. Have tried rebooting server, clearing LS server cache, recompiling entire product line, all numerous times, and I still seem to have to do this for almost every form to first time. It seems ok after that.
Error that keeps coming up is:
java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException

We used to have a number of problem with LS. They seemed to be resolved when we applied a number of patches to Websphere and Core Technology. Some centered on memory leaks. In addition, we daily stop and start all core componenets for Lawson, Websphere and Oracle. This has been for over a year, we have been good.
