GL Cost Allocations

We just started using Cost Allocations. We have setup a few but we were wondering what other companies are using this application for. We are using it to "spread" Administrative costs to hospitals. Can anyone provide other examples for which you have found CA beneficial?

Mayo Clinic is using Cost Allocations in a big way. We have 10 major allocations that we run every month: Foundation Wide Benefits, Revenue Reductions, Site Benefits, Foundation Administration, Site Overhead, Education Administration and 4 other small allocations for administration, desk, support areas and clinical education. We run an CA190 after each of the first six and follow that with a GL & AC posting before the next CA110. It used to take 3 full days to run the CA110, validate, run the CA190 and run the posting but are now down to 2 days or sometimes just over 2 days.
