Are we required to only use ION API's?

Hello,

When dealing with API's, are we limited to only using Infor ION API's, or can we create our own? I was asked if it was possible to send data, for example meter readings, into EAM without using the ION API.

Any help thread/documentation that might point me in the right direction would be very helpful - thanks!

If you are need a synchronous interface (web services, APIs, etc.) into Infor applications then the ION API Gateway is the tool to use. If you need an asynchronous interface (flat files, FTP, message service, etc.) then ION Connect is your tool to use.



You can add whatever APIs you want to the Gateway as long as they adhere to the SOAP or REST standard.
